“Upholding
the
Lordship of Jesus Christ as revealed in
the Scriptures, that ALL
may know the Savior and experience life in HIS name”
The
Bible: I believe both the
Old and
New Testaments were written by humans directly inspired by God as they
wrote
and that the original manuscripts were without error. They contain
nothing more
and nothing less than what God wants to reveal to us. They are God’s
revelation
to mankind, and are the supreme and final authority. They reveal the
will of
God in 66 books.
God: I
believe there is only
one God who
is in and beyond all dimensions of our Universe, including time. God is
revealed
in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The
Father: The Father
has been revealed as that person of the One God who is the ultimate
authority
and will. We only come to the Father through Jesus Christ. “Father” is
a name
only to those who are his children, and believers are adopted children
who can
use this name.
The Son: I
believe that Jesus Christ is revealed as
the person
of God who represents God to mankind and as a human represents mankind
to God.
Jesus was conceived of God the Holy Spirit and born of the woman Mary,
who was
a virgin. He is thus the One Mediator between God and humans. His is
the Name
above every name, and at this tñne all authority is given to
Him. At the end of
His earthly life, He died an atoning, sacrificial death for our
salvation. As
Great High Priest, He took His blood into the one true Holy of Holies,
eternal
in Heaven, and made the atonement for sin. We look to Jesus Christ as
our
Redeemer, Lord, and Savior.
The Holy Spirit: I
believe that the Holy Spirit is revealed in
Scriptures as the person of God whose work includes conviction of sin,
righteousness, and judgement. At salvation, the Holy Spirit baptizes
the
believer into the body of Christ, permanently indwells the believer,
and seats
the believer in the triune God for eternity. There is one spiritual
baptism at
salvation, and many fillings for service to God and mankind. Our bodies
are
temples of the Holy Spirit who leads us in holy living. He is also a
teacher
and intercessor when we do not know the way.
Ordinances: I believe that
there are two ordinances for
believers: The
communion
of the Lord’s Supper, and the believers baptism
by immersion as a
symbol of our
death, burial, and resurrection spiritually with Jesus and resulting
newness of
life.
The Local Church: I
believe
that the church is a local body of baptized believers with Christ as
its head
and the Holy Spirit as its guide in the will of the Father. Churches
should
promote God’s work by cooperating together for missions and many other
joint efforts.
The local church is under God’s sovereignty, not controlled by other
persons,
bodies, or groups. The church is made up of believers and was bought by
the
blood of Jesus Christ(Acts 20:28). The command to the church is Matthew
28:18-20, Mark 16:15-18, and Acts 1:8
